A Decade of Shaping Stories

In the engine room of Indian trade publishing.

Yamini Chowdhury Editor

I have spent ten years in the engine room of Indian trade publishing — acquiring, editing, and championing books that needed to be read.

Through that decade I have worked across literary fiction, narrative non-fiction, memoir, and commercial titles. I have sat on the publisher's side of the table for proposal pitches, manuscript appraisals, structural edits, copy passes, and everything that happens after a contract is signed.

Wordcraft is the natural extension of that experience: a private editorial practice for authors who want a publishing professional in their corner — before, during, and after the submission.

Industry Insight & Editorial Precision

Having worked closely with authors, publishers, and literary institutions, Yamini brings a rare combination of industry insight and editorial precision to every project she touches. Her journey equips her with an intimate understanding of what publishers look for — from the strength of a book proposal to the structural integrity of a manuscript.

Beyond the editorial desk, Yamini has served as a moderator for panel discussions and book conversations, bringing thoughtful engagement and intellectual rigour to literary events.

Wordcraft by Yamini was born from a desire to democratise access to professional editorial guidance — to be the trusted mentor that every aspiring author deserves but rarely finds.

"Every author has a story worth telling. My role is to help them tell it with clarity, confidence, and craft."
